Mason is my son, the love of my life, the best decision I ever made, the only man I need and my biggest accomplishment…EVER!

How’s that for an introduction?

I have to be honest. There was no creativity involved on my part when it came to choosing his name. His first name came straight out of a Keeping Up with the Kardashians episode. Don’t worry. If I ever have a little girl, I won’t be naming her Northwest.

His middle name is Alexander. There is no special connection to that name either. It just came to me suddenly out of no where and when I realized it flowed nicely with his first name, I went with it. I realized later however, I may have subconsciously stolen the name from the actor, Jason Alexander.

And since I’m a single mom by choice, I gave Mason my last name. This made granddaddy very happy as Mason is the first grandson to carry on his name. My boy. Already contributing something to the family’s legacy.

My due date to give birth was September 10, 2012. I was okay with him coming on any day in September as long as it wasn’t September 11th. I should have known he would do just that. Coming in at 7lbs 9oz and 20.5 inches long, Mason Alexander was born at 11:36 am on September 11, 2012.

Seems like only yesterday. I can’t believe I’m already planning his 1st year birthday party. The term “Time flies” is an understatement.
